Business Analyst

Citizant is a leading provider of professional IT services to the U.S. government, seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a short-term engagement. The role involves analyzing, documenting, and optimizing business processes to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across organizational functions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess current-state business processes across key operational areas
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and pain points
• Develop current-state and future-state process maps (BPMN or similar)
• Identify process gaps, redundancies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation or standardization
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend process improvements aligned with organizational goals
• Translate business needs into clear functional and process requirements
• Produce high-quality documentation including:
• Process maps and workflows
• Business requirements documents (BRDs)
• Gap analyses and recommendations
• Implementation of roadmaps and prioritization matrices
• Ensure deliverables are clear, actionable, and aligned with leadership expectations
• Collaborate with leadership, program teams, and technical stakeholders
• Facilitate working sessions and presentations to validate findings and recommendations
• Build consensus and drive alignment on future-state processes
• Provide recommendations for process governance and performance metrics
• Support the development of KPIs and measurement frameworks to track improvements
• Deliver a final report summarizing findings, recommendations, and next steps

Requirements:

• 8–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with strong emphasis on Business Process Engineering / Process Improvement
• Demonstrated experience leading process re-engineering or transformation initiatives
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Strong experience with: Process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, etc.)
• BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
• Proven ability to facilitate workshops and translate stakeholder needs into actionable deliverables
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs within a short timeline
• Experience working in nonprofit, government, or mission-driven organizations preferred
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent
• Experience supporting nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
• Experience supporting digital transformation or operational modernization initiatives
• Experience developing KPI frameworks and performance metrics
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred
