Junior Data Engineer

Helic & Co. is seeking a motivated Junior Data Engineer to assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience with data processing, ETL workflows, and collaboration with data teams to support business analytics.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines for ETL/ELT processes using tools like Python, SQL, and cloud platforms
• Collect, clean, and transform data from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, files in JSON/CSV/XML formats) to ensure quality and usability
• Support database management, optimization, and basic troubleshooting to enable efficient data storage and retrieval
• Perform data quality checks, validation, and monitoring to identify and resolve issues in pipelines
• Document processes, pipelines, and code for team collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to understand data needs and contribute to projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in SQL, Python (or Java), and basic data tools; familiarity with ETL processes and databases
• 0-2 years of relevant experience or internships; strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and data formats is a plus
• Knowledge of big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
• Attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and collaborative team mindset
