The role of AWS Systems Administrator involves managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring systems remain secure and highly available while supporting application development.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC
- Implement and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability and performance
- Automate deployment and management of cloud resources
- Perform regular system backups, updates, and patch management
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services and cloud applications
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud resources for application performance
- Maintain security best practices and compliance standards for cloud infrastructure
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in AWS administration
- Proficient in AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Elastic load balancer, Cloud Watch etc
- Basic understanding and experience with IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege access
- Ability to support deployments and environment configurations
- Experience reviewing logs and troubleshooting common infrastructure issues
- Experience supporting Oracle WebLogic Server on AWS
- Experience with Linux Operating System (Red hat) and Bash scripts
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and security protocols
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience working in Gov cloud
- Familiarity with handling sensitive data
- Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, are highly desirable
