Ampirical is shaping the future of the power grid with precision, innovation, and purpose. The Power Commissioning Engineer will develop commissioning plans for substation projects, create relay settings files, and conduct testing of current transformers and protective relays.
Responsibilities:
- Develop commissioning plans for substation projects including physical design and protection and control (P&C)
- Develop relay settings files for SEL, GE and Basler, relays from protection summary sheets and AC/DC schematics
- Responsible for testing of current transformers, protective relays
- Responsible for SCADA testing
- Adjust group operated switches
- Fully function test relay panels
- Collaborate with design teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Ability to pass a drug screen and obtain a TWIC card
- Detailed knowledge of relay systems and substation equipment
- Understanding of substation physical design and P&C
- Understanding of protection concepts around bus, transformer, transmission line, and distribution line protection
