NTT DATA North America is a leading business and technology services provider seeking an Epic Infrastructure Automation Engineer. The role involves ensuring the infrastructure supporting the Epic Electronic Health Record system is robust and efficiently managed through automation and collaboration with various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scripts and tools (using Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform, etc.) to automate the provisioning and configuration of servers and infrastructure that support the Epic ecosystem
- Build and manage virtual machines using platforms like VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or cloud-based virtualization technologies (e.g., Azure/AWS), ensuring they meet Epic's technical requirements
- Implement and maintain infrastructure and application-level monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Nagios, vRealize Operations) to monitor Epic system performance, VM health, and infrastructure uptime
- Ensure all Epic infrastructure components are redundant, resilient, and compliant with HA/DR requirements. This includes automating backup/restore processes, replication, and participating in DR drills
- Work closely with Epic TS (Technical Services), clinical app teams, networking, security, and storage teams to implement infrastructure that aligns with Epic's specifications (e.g., Hyperdrive, Interconnect, Chronicles DB performance tuning)
- Coordinating updates, certifications (e.g., Epic upgrade cycles), patching, and ensuring system compatibility
- Scripting and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) practices using Python, Bash, or JSON/YAML-based tools
- Security hardening and compliance auditing (especially for HIPAA)
- Cloud integration, if your organization is hybrid or migrating Epic infrastructure to the cloud
