Cloud Engineer Lead

SoTalent is seeking a senior technology leader to oversee large-scale cloud transformation initiatives across their engineering organization. The Cloud Engineering Program Lead will coordinate multiple Agile delivery teams to execute complex cloud migration programs while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate multiple Scrum and Kanban teams delivering cloud migration initiatives
• Support program-level planning activities, including Program Increment (PI) events and cross-team dependency management
• Facilitate backlog refinement, risk identification, and mitigation strategies across Agile Release Trains
• Drive transparency through program reporting, risk tracking, and stakeholder communications
• Ensure effective execution of Agile ceremonies and alignment across teams
• Lead end-to-end cloud migration efforts, from assessment and planning through execution and post-migration stabilization
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Application teams to ensure seamless migration
• Design and support hybrid cloud and data center extension strategies
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and internal governance standards
• Develop reusable documentation, playbooks, and best practices to streamline future migrations
• Monitor system performance and stability throughout migration and optimization phases
• Maintain and enhance release management, change management, and outage processes
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to team members
• Manage vendors and external partners involved in migration initiatives
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of technology experience, or high school diploma/GED with 15+ years of IT experience
• Strong experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Proven experience designing hybrid cloud architectures and supporting data center extension strategies
• Demonstrated experience operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Jira Align, including backlog management, capacity planning, and dependency tracking
• Proven track record of leading complex, enterprise-level initiatives
• SAFe certification (e.g., Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer)
• Prior experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries
• Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization and performance tuning
• Ability to influence change across business and technical functions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage executive stakeholders
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect
