The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all phases of assigned IT initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage IT projects from concept creation through implementation, including defining project scope, goals, milestones, deliverables, detailed tasks, dependencies, and resource requirements
- Own and actively manage projects in Jira, including creating and maintaining project plans, timelines, dependencies, and resource allocations using Jira and Jira Plans
- Ensure Jira is used as the system of record for project planning, tracking, and reporting—not just as a development team tool
- Manage user expectations and work collaboratively across business and IT teams
- Lead cross-functional project teams and vendors to achieve project objectives
- Create, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules and budgets; track progress and control scope to ensure delivery within constraints
- Document key decisions, actions, risks, issues, and outcomes in a clear and consistent manner
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership; serve as the primary point of contact for assigned initiatives
- Coordinate resources, task assignments, and project plans; monitor utilization and forecast future resource needs
- Drive resolution of complex issues and manage interdependencies across projects and teams
- Apply strong problem-solving, influencing, and facilitation skills to keep projects aligned with intended outcomes
- Build strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders to ensure commitments are met
- Partner with PMO leadership and peers to recommend and implement improvements to project management tools, standards, and processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field preferred
- 7+ years of hands-on project management experience, including direct ownership of project planning and delivery
- Demonstrated experience managing projects using Jira, including hands-on use of Jira Plans for project planning, dependency management, and roadmap visibility
- Experience leading business process reengineering initiatives and large-scale software implementations involving rollout of new processes to broad user populations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively, and work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to remain composed and effective during high-volume or high-pressure periods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all organizational levels
- Sound professional judgment and decision-making skills
- Exposure to a wide range of IT systems and services, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and platforms
- Detail-oriented, quality-driven mindset with strong accuracy and follow-through
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools, including Jira, Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Salesforce, Siebel, Spekit, and related systems
- Strong prioritization, problem-solving, and information management skills
- PMP certification preferred
