The ACLU is seeking an Undergraduate Social Media Intern in the Communications and Marketing department of their National office in New York, NY. The intern will assist the social media team in creating, scheduling, and analyzing content across various platforms to engage supporters and promote civil liberties.
Responsibilities:
- Produce social media content for Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube as needed
- Assist social media editors and associates in scheduling content, including during rapid response moments
- Prepare analytics reports with assistance from social media editors or social media manager
Requirements:
- Currently be matriculated undergraduate students or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship
- Experience using TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter for professional, academic, or extracurricular purposes
- Attention to detail, excellent written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Be committed to advancing the mission of the ACLU
- Center and embed the principles of equity, inclusion and belonging in their work by demonstrating commitment to diversity with an approach that respects and values multiple perspectives
- Be committed to work collaboratively and respectfully toward resolving obstacles and conflict
- Experience using these platforms for advocacy or organizing work a plus
