The Senior Business Controls Analyst role focuses on strengthening the bank's risk management and control environment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a robust control culture through collaboration with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of control-related assessments, programs, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and risk management standards
- Analyze, evaluate, and periodically review risk management practices across the organization, including activities at network affiliates, to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with second and third lines of defense to strengthen the control environment and enhance overall risk management practices
- Analyze data impacting technical, operational, and business functions, providing insights into practical implications for the business line
- Provide guidance on control standards to ensure documentation and implementation align with regulatory and internal standards
- Participate in key risk program functions, including compliance risk assessments, Key Risk Indicator reviews, issue management, and operational loss analysis
- Coordinate review and challenge interactions with lines of business, supporting compliance testing and remediation efforts
- Contribute to cultivating a risk-aware culture by designing and implementing preventive and detective controls, especially related to Entertainment Banking activities
- Act as a liaison with internal audit, legal, and compliance teams, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution
- Represent the Business Control Office in meetings, providing feedback, escalating decisions, and fostering stakeholder relationships
- Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships to facilitate collaboration and risk management initiatives
- Develop communication materials and presentations for senior management, ensuring clarity and impact
- Prioritize risk management objectives and participate in special projects and audit activities as needed
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives in credit underwriting and portfolio management, emphasizing control and risk mitigation
Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent is required
- At least five years of relevant experience in auditing, risk, control, or finance consulting within the financial sector
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of risk management methodologies, regulatory requirements, and control standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of operating well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational change and foster a risk-aware culture
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Certifications such as CRM are highly desirable
