Backend Engineer, Commerce Mission

ŌURA is dedicated to empowering individuals to realize their inner potential through innovative health products. They are seeking a Backend Engineer to contribute to the Commerce Mission, which aims to enhance product sales revenue through various partnerships and e-commerce strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Be part of a revenue-generating organization with a charter to increase Oura’s brand recognition and drive product sales. We focus on D2C, B2B, and strategic partnerships with retail partners
• Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions using Typescript, DynamoDB, Redis, and AWS technologies
• Design and implement testable, scalable, and well-documented code and ensure that our platform adheres to the latest security and compliance regulations
• Support customer care team to troubleshoot and resolve issues that impact user experience

Requirements:

• 3 - 5 years of backend development experience
• Strong Typescript skills
• Solid knowledge of API best practices, experience with serverless patterns (AWS Lambdas) and Service-Oriented Architectures
• Have designed, built, and deployed scalable, performant web services on AWS
• Have experience with DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline configuration, monitoring and observability for code in production, and crafting quality alerts to support operational excellence
• Have a pragmatic, entrepreneurial attitude and delivery-focused mindset: you can handle tradeoffs between short-term goals and long-term tech debt
• experience with online payments, PSPs, digital wallets, etc
• experience building, migrating, or maintaining performant services at scale with multiple internal and external consumers
• experience building commercial solutions for B2B or D2C commerce flows
