EVONA is a venture-backed robotics startup in the defense-tech space, developing real-time autonomous systems for aerial applications. They are seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to develop UAV software, collaborate with operators, and enhance mission capabilities in defense environments.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and iterating on UAV and robotics software used in defense-focused environments
- Working directly with operators to understand how the system behaves in the field
- Prototyping UAV features, running flight tests, collecting feedback and refining quickly
- Supporting mapping, navigation, perception and mission capabilities for aerial robots
- Troubleshooting live issues in the field and shaping product direction based on operator needs
- Collaborating with autonomy, hardware and product teams to take UAV systems from lab to deployment
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with UAVs or drones
- Strong C++ skills and solid robotics software foundations
- Experience with navigation, mapping, or computer vision
- Comfort working directly with end users, operators and field teams
- Ability to operate without rigid requirements and iterate through trial and error
- A proactive, hands-on mindset suited to small, fast-moving engineering teams
- This role is open to US-based engineers only - US Citizens or Green Card Holders (Compliant with ITAR)
