BayOne Solutions is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to design and scale automation services for global manufacturing lines. The role involves developing system-level software for factory automation, managing infrastructure, and ensuring secure provisioning of devices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain system-level software that controls factory floor stations, specifically automating the injection of digital certificates and identities into hardware
- Architect and maintain the server infrastructure (Bare Metal/BM) and remote services that support factory operations globally
- Bridge the gap in the networking space by designing resilient communication protocols between factory stations and remote data centers
- Build robust systems to handle high-volume data transactions from the factory floor, ensuring data integrity and real-time reporting
- Write and debug code across both Linux and Windows environments to support diverse factory hardware
- Manage certificate requests and automated security workflows to ensure all manufactured products meet global security standards
Requirements:
- Proficiency in C++, Go, or Python with a focus on system-level development and hardware interaction
- Deep experience with Linux (kernel/distros) and Windows (PowerShell/Services) management
- Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 networking, PXE booting, and providing services to remote, sometimes air-gapped, environments
- Experience managing Bare Metal (BM) servers and deploying automated infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with SSL/TLS certificates, certificate authorities, and automated certificate signing/requesting
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases for handling high-frequency factory telemetry and transaction logs
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment
- Familiarity with Aruba/HPE networking stacks
- Knowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSM) or Trusted Platform Modules (TPM)
