Openly is a company focused on rebuilding insurance with a customer-centric approach. They are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to strategically enhance their People team, focusing on organizational culture, diversity, and employee engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Work with functional leadership to ensure the organization is aligned to the company strategy, culture, values and emerging technologies
- Partner with leaders to align current and future business needs into an overall integrated People plan for the function, focusing on opportunities that contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the business
- Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools within the People and Culture function to streamline administrative workflows, freeing up 'mental bandwidth' for high-impact strategic coaching and creative problem-solving
- Partner with leaders to ensure Diversity, Inclusion, Equity isn’t an “HR topic” - everyone plays a part
- Support performance management of staff and manage employee relations, when necessary
- Structure the performance review process, and train managers to be able to give feedback on their own
- Participate in company-wide performance campaigns
- Integrate and partner with HR colleagues in the Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, HRIS, and People Operations teams to implement solutions and help scale the business
- Proactively assess team, manager, organizational development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
- Continuously challenge job descriptions and comp/ben mechanisms to ensure adequacy between organizational efforts and strategic importance of each population (in collaboration with the TA team)
- Gather key Learning & Development needs and collaborate with the L&D team to ensure that needs are met
- Use engagement survey results and insights to make impactful recommendations
- Leverage data-driven insights to build the 'why' behind organizational changes, ensuring leadership buy-in through evidence-based storytelling
- Ability to manage HR projects and guide the HR team
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in human resources, organizational development, or other related fields
- Experience supporting an operational function, inclusive of call center employees, is required
- Ability to position yourself as credible (garners respect, acts with integrity, keeps commitments); proactive (has a point of view, challenges assumptions, takes initiative); and a trusted thought-partner (builds relationships, delivers results)
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment in a period of hypergrowth
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience building processes
- Experience managing change for hyper growth organizations
- Knowledge of Federal and State labor laws
- Experience in insurance and/or a start-up, a plus
- Experience managing a team is a plus
