FedTec is seeking a highly skilled AWS Infra - Cloud Engineer to provide infrastructure management, automation, and deployment support for the Data to Decisions (D2D) platform. This role is critical in maintaining the cloud-native ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration between data storage, search services, and the web portal while driving efficiencies through Python-based automation and robust CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize AWS services supporting the D2D platform, including EC2, RDS (Aurora and SQL Server), S3, Lambda, and CloudFormation, to maintain a secure, high-availability production environment
- Administer and tune the Apache Solr search engine, ensuring platform searches are properly indexed, optimized, and performing efficiently
- Support and maintain the Jenkins deployment pipeline, including the development and upkeep of Python and Selenium automation scripts for regression testing and operational tasks
- Oversee platform automation by maintaining and enhancing existing Python and Ansible scripts used for configuration management and infrastructure operations
- Maintain database integrity and performance across AWS Aurora and MS SQL Server environments, including schema creation, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Support secure integrations between the Drupal portal, S3 storage, and DynamoDB/RDS environments to ensure reliable and seamless data flow
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams to manage platform uptime, failover, scaling, and performance monitoring based on system usage and capacity indicators
- Support security compliance by addressing vulnerabilities, updating System Security Plans (SSP), and remediating findings in accordance with IT security procedures and NIST 800-53
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 3+ years of professional experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation
- Proficiency in Python, Selenium, and Ansible for automation, testing, and infrastructure-as-code
- Experience managing Apache Solr and relational databases such as AWS Aurora and MS SQL Server
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of federal security standards, including NIST 800-53 and the RMF process
- Strong documentation and communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams
