They are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Application Sales Engineer to develop and maintain strong relationships with paper mill customers, identify sales opportunities, and provide technical support related to Fabrics and Rolls products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture relationships with paper mill customers to identify and pursue sales opportunities for Fabrics and Rolls products
- Conduct comprehensive paper machine audits and service calls to assist customers with innovative sales applications and operational improvements
- Ensure customer needs are accurately defined and addressed promptly, providing tailored solutions to enhance their manufacturing processes
- Perform paper machine optimization, shutdown inspections, and prepare detailed onsite reports to support operational excellence
- Utilize proprietary modeling software to optimize machine operating efficiencies and improve production outcomes
- Troubleshoot customer issues, providing technical guidance and helping implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize performance
- Mitigate warranty exposure by early detection and prevention of potential machine or product failures
- Assist paper mills in setting up proper record-keeping systems and completing value results platforms to monitor performance metrics
- Build and maintain comprehensive databases on customer equipment, including clothing, roll cover, bowed roll, and mechanical specifications, as well as installation and product lifespan data
- Conduct 'Resolve - press optimization studies' to enhance machine productivity and increase sales opportunities
- Identify and recommend new applications for machine clothing, roll cover, and bowed roll products based on customer needs and market trends
- Communicate field activities, including sales opportunities, inter-company issues, and competitive intelligence, to the Regional Sales Manager
- Prepare monthly reports summarizing field activities, highlighting achievements, upcoming requirements, and market insights
- Manage and control an expense budget to support business growth and operational efficiency
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field
- Extensive experience in maintenance, production, or sales within the paper industry or similar manufacturing sectors
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with clients
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management
- Strong understanding of paper machine operations, process optimization, and troubleshooting
- Willingness to travel frequently and manage an expense budget to grow the business
