Accelon Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst and Product Owner with deep expertise in Record-to-Report (R2R) processes. The successful candidate will drive system enhancements, optimize financial processes, and partner with cross-functional teams to support global operations.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Product Owner for D365 Finance & Operations within the R2R domain, defining product vision, roadmap, and long-term strategy
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring clear prioritization aligned with business goals, compliance needs, and operational efficiency
- Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans
- Act as the primary liaison between Finance stakeholders, IT teams, and development partners to ensure alignment and transparency
- Champion adoption of new features, capabilities, and best practices across global Finance teams
- Serve as the functional subject matter expert for D365 F&O in R2R areas including General Ledger, Consolidations, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting
- Lead requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design for financial systems initiatives
- Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements, leveraging D365 capabilities, automation, and standardization
- Provide day-to-day production support, including incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of system issues
- Ensure operational excellence through performance monitoring, SLA compliance, and issue prevention
- Support month-end and year-end close activities by ensuring system stability and timely issue resolution
- Collaborate with IT, vendors, and business teams to deliver enhancements, integrations, and platform releases
- Assess new D365 features and recommend adoption strategies that improve efficiency and user experience
- Support integration points with upstream/downstream systems to ensure data integrity and continuity
- Identify opportunities to streamline R2R processes using automation, workflow improvements, and advanced D365 functionality
- Drive standardization and governance across global Finance operations
- Support reporting and automation initiatives using tools such as Power BI, BlackLine, and others
- Ensure system configurations and processes comply with GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, and audit requirements
- Support internal and external audits with documentation, system evidence, and process walkthroughs
- Maintain alignment between system design and financial reporting standards
- Develop and execute test plans for functional, regression, and user acceptance testing
- Support deployment activities, cutover planning, and post-production validation
- Contribute to training, documentation, and user enablement to support change adoption
- Mentor junior analysts and guide cross-functional teams in best practices for financial systems
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Finance leadership, influencing long-term systems strategy and investment decisions
- Foster strong relationships with global stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred)
- 6+ years of experience with D365 Finance & Operations, with strong focus on R2R processes
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in ERP/financial systems implementations
- Demonstrated success in production support operations
- Extensive understanding of financial reporting, GAAP/IFRS, and internal control frameworks
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
