Twist Bioscience is a company that synthesizes genes from scratch, known as 'writing' DNA. They are seeking a Business Development Manager focused on oncology applications to drive revenue and growth for their sequencing products, while developing key customer relationships and delivering accurate revenue forecasts.
Responsibilities:
- Attain quarterly and annual revenue targets
- Deliver accurate and timely forecasts for the territory
- Develop and manage key relationships with new and existing customers at various organizational levels
- Develop contingency and risk mitigation plans for the region
- Develop and execute supply agreements
- Collaborate with product management, R&D, and operations to minimize time to revenue
- Maintain an up-to-date CRM database
- Represent the company at relevant tradeshows
- Maintain and raise awareness of the competitive landscape, provide customer feedback, and introduce new product ideas to internal partners
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Proven track record of delivering financial targets on a quarterly and annual basis
- 8+ years of experience selling life science reagents and solutions, with essential experience in next-generation sequencing target enrichment products
- 5+ years of experience selling into the Clinical Oncology market
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing applications
- Demonstrated drive, determination, and self-motivation, leading to consistent achievement of financial results
- Demonstrated scientific problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated technical depth in synthetic biology applications and workflows
- Excellent customer consultative selling skills
- Positive external and internal relationship management skills
- Ability to participate effectively as a team member to ensure smooth handling of demanding projects
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to thrive in a start-up/change-oriented environment
- Proven coaching, mentoring, team-building, and leadership skills
- Proven as a strategic thinker, backed by a track record of tactical execution
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferably in Biology or a similar field
- A background in technical sales and support or field applications is preferred
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com is preferred
