The Walt Disney Company is dedicated to creating magical experiences for its guests. They are seeking an Engineering Storekeeper responsible for managing technical inventory and ensuring efficient operations within the Engineering Department onboard their vessels.
Responsibilities:
- Verifies that the Engineering Store operation onboard is within Disney Cruise Line standards of safety, security, and efficiency
- Maintains Inventory Levels, verifies that an adequate supply of spare parts tools and consumables is available to support the engineering maintenance teams
- Maintains Inventory Control, implements accurate control measures, including tracking the usage and movement of spare parts and equipment. Conduct regular inventory audits to confirm records match physical stock in AMOS
- Properly store and organize spare parts and tools in the storage areas to confirm easy access and to prevent damage. Label and catalog items accurately to facilitate quick retrieval. Verifies materials storage practices are compliant with classification society and Port State Control regulations
- Maintains access control, cleanliness, and orderliness of Engineering storerooms
- Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues and returns of spare parts or materials. Update inventory management system with accurate data
- Submit requests for stock type creation and updates in AMOS, including images, files, and drawings uploads as per approved CUD process
- Familiar with the function and operation of AMOS based modules installed onboard
- Confirms stock requests and issuance are approved following the approval process set by the Chief Engineer
- Confirms stocks in the shelves and the AMOS min-max values are within reasonable stock levels (as per usage trend and lead time) to reduce or avoid ‘frozen capital’
- Monitor stock levels and re-orders stock items within minimum values, as per usage trend and lead time
- Assist Engineering Officers in ordering items needed for the operation and verifying that new parts are correct
- Keep track of the spare parts that are held in the DCL Warehouse and recall these items when required
- Receive and file purchase orders in AMOS and submits loading report for every loading operation
- Liaise with shoreside sourcing and procurement team to place orders for necessary parts and supplies
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost throughout the purchasing process and assist with query requisitions
- Coordinate with Sourcing Expeditor and Disney Cruise Line Distribution Center Team in tracking vendor deliveries and returns
- Reports any discrepancy, damage, or delay on expected delivery to the Chief Engineer, Engineering Officers, Sourcing and Procurement Team, Disney Cruise Line Distribution Center Team, and the Vendor as necessary
- Coordinate with Disney Cruise Line Distribution Center Team in recalling stored items in the warehouse and other matters of deliveries
- Prepare shipboard proforma invoices (offload manifests) and arrange landing items in port of call as well as verifies information in the shipboard proforma invoices are accurate and in accordance with port state customs
- Verify any chemical, lubricant, gas, paint, and other hazardous material to be offloaded has corresponding SDS
- Inspect deliveries for any abnormality, damage, or pest infestation. Submit insects and Pest Management Reports to the Sanitation Officer every loading
- Verify chemicals, lubricants, gasses, paint, and other hazardous materials related to Engineering Department in stock, being procured, and loaded onboard have shore approved SDS available in the Safetec Kiosk
- Conducts weekly chemical, lubricant, gas, and paint inventory
- Dry dock preparations - coordinate with procurement and logistic team for the delivery of necessary materials and parts
- Support special engineering projects by providing necessary materials and parts. Coordinate with Project Managers to meet specific requirements and timelines
- Interdepartmental coordination, liaise with other departments such as deck and hotel to support their inventory requirements
- Emergency Duties as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
Requirements:
- Minimum four years of experience in large cruise vessels technical stores as Storekeeper
- Expert in the Amos M & P software system, particularly in regards to procurement
- Must have an above average command of the spoken and written English language
- Must be forceful in carrying out responsibilities as regards to control of systems and stock in the technical stores
- Must be flexible and self motivated
- Must have the highest levels of honesty and integrity
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities, and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
