DataStage Engineer

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Sr DataStage Engineer to fill an open position with one of their clients in the banking industry. This role provides deep technical expertise to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of IBM DataStage during high-risk data migration and conversion events.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced troubleshooting and incident response for DataStage job failures, performance issues, and platform instability
• Monitor, tune, and optimize the DataStage platform to support increased workloads during Mock cycles, cutover, and post‑go‑live stabilization
• Deliver hands‑on platform oversight during conversion weekends and key testing events to ensure data pipelines run reliably end to end
• Analyze recurring issues, identify root causes, and implement improvements to reduce operational risk and prevent downstream impacts

Requirements:

• Strong hands‑on experience supporting IBM DataStage in enterprise or large‑scale data migration environments
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex job abends, performance bottlenecks, and platform issues
• Experience tuning and optimizing high‑volume ETL workloads to meet strict processing and cutover timelines
• Deep understanding of data integration reliability and its impact on downstream systems and reporting
• Ability to provide senior‑level support during high‑pressure events such as Mock cycles and conversion weekends
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on rapid remediation and stability assurance
• Experience supporting data migrations, mergers, or large transformation initiatives
