Mixpanel is an event analytics platform for builders who need answers from their data at their fingertips. They are seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to help scale their internal systems and infrastructure, focusing on automation, management, and scalability of corporate systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop scripts and automation workflows (e.g., using Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to automate routine IT tasks such as user onboarding/offboarding, software deployment, and system patching
- Implement and manage integrations between corporate systems and tools
- Author internal guides covering process improvements, reliability patterns, and best practices
- Design, build, and maintain our internal IT infrastructure using tools like Terraform or Ansible. This includes managing cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization platforms, and on-premises hardware
- Manage and automate our identity provider (e.g., Okta, ) and its integrations with various SaaS applications (like Slack, Google Workspace, etc) to ensure secure and efficient access control
- Act as a key technical resource for the IT helpdesk and other teams, troubleshooting complex issues and providing solutions that prevent future occurrences. Champion best practices within the IT organization
- Work alongside the security team to implement and enforce security policies, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure our internal systems comply with industry standards
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering role within an internal DevOps or IT team supporting corporate functions
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider, preferably GCP (AWS, Azure)
- Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or a similar language
- Experience with automation platforms such as Zapier, Tray, Tines, or similar
- Strong experience leveraging OpenAPI to build integrations between key corporate systems (i.e. HRIS—>Okta)
- Experience working with agile methodologies
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Deep experience supporting Apple/macOS environments
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and networking fundamentals
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with a passion for improving processes and helping colleagues
- Proven flexibility in navigating diverse systems, codebases, and priorities
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a remote environment
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools (MDM)
- Experience working closely with Security or Governance teams
- Background in CI/CD tooling for internal platforms
