Fluke Corporation is a global leader in creating software and test tools, dedicated to supporting customers with innovative technology. They are seeking a Business Development Engineer to drive new defense program development, focusing on collaboration with U.S. Prime Contractors to integrate test and support solutions into government contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Support identification and development of new DoD programs aligned to test and ATE requirements
- Assist in early capture activities, including pre-RFP and pre-budget engagement
- Support shaping of technical and support solution requirements prior to solicitation
- Apply working knowledge of ATE architectures and test environments used in defense programs
- Support integration of test, calibration, training, spares, and sustainment solutions into Prime contractor system designs
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align technical capabilities with program needs
- Support technical and program-level interactions with Prime contractor engineering, program, and business development teams
- Participate in technical interchange meetings (TIMs), solution reviews, and early program discussions
- Assist in aligning Prime contractor pursuits with government end-user requirements and acquisition strategies
- Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Contracts, and Service teams to support capture readiness
- Contribute technical and solution inputs for ROMs, proposals, and capture documentation
- Support transition of awarded programs from business development to execution teams
- Maintain opportunity data and program status in CRM tools
- Track opportunity maturity, risks, and next actions in alignment with capture plans
- Support leadership updates and program reviews as needed
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience in defense, test systems, or technical business development
- Working knowledge of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and test or calibration environments
- Understanding of DoD acquisition processes and Prime contractor program structures
- Ability to translate technical requirements into business and capture inputs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting Prime Contractors on defense programs
- Familiarity with sustainment, calibration, or lifecycle support models in government contracts
- Background in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or technical sales
- Exposure to IDIQs, OTAs, FMS, or other government contracting vehicles
