API Gateway Engineer

KPG99 INC is seeking an API Gateway Engineer with expertise in IBM API Connect and Kong. The role involves working with API gateways in enterprise environments and requires strong technical expertise in API protocols and standards.

Responsibilities:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience working with API gateways in enterprise environments
• 2+ years of direct experience with IBM API Connect (APIC)
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kong Gateway (OSS or Enterprise)
• Strong experience with API protocols and standards: REST and SOAP, OpenAPI specifications, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, mTLS/TLS encryption, Certificate management (PEM, PFX, P12 formats)
• Advanced expertise in IBM API Connect (v10), including: Assembly policies, DataPower integration, GatewayScript and XSLT transformations, Product and Plan configuration
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools including: Splunk / ELK stack, Prometheus / Grafana
