Siemens is a global leader in technology, community, and sustainability, seeking a Director of Product Management for Government within their Asset & Maintenance team. This role involves setting the strategy and driving the delivery of AI-powered asset management solutions tailored for local governments, impacting communities on a global scale.
Responsibilities:
- Define and Champion Vision: Own the multi-year, AI‑enhanced product vision and strategy for our government solutions, incorporating predictive models, decision support, and scenario forecasting aligned with government needs
- Build a Stakeholder-Informed Roadmap: Translate critical public sector challenges—such as deferred maintenance, resiliency, equity, and funding gaps—into a clear, actionable product roadmap with measurable outcomes
- Lead U.S. Government Product Focus: Lead the Government product portfolio with a dedicated focus on the technical and operational needs of U.S. state and local government asset management. This includes understanding infrastructure funding sources and eligibility requirements, the government technology stack (e.g., ERPs and best‑of‑breed systems), and the end‑to‑end customer journey across asset management functions
- Drive Global Expansion: Spearhead our strategic expansion into the United States – our largest and most significant market opportunity – while continuing to support and grow our solutions in Australia and the UK. This involves understanding regional nuances and adapting our offerings for maximum impact
- Advance the Intelligent Planning Platform: Drive the roadmap toward an intelligent planning platform, integrating advanced technologies like Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Model (LLM) assisted workflows, GIS, and asset performance prediction
- Activate Market Advocacy: Champion the product with clients and in late-stage deals; collaborate with Sales and Marketing on public sector-ready positioning, pricing, and enablement; and help shape a 3rd party channel strategy
- Market Sensing: Build and maintain a robust market sensing engine, continuously tracking policy/regulatory shifts, funding programs, competitive moves, and AI adoption trends across local government
- Orchestrate Seamless Delivery: Partner closely with UX/Design, Engineering, Commercial, Client Services, and Professional Services teams to deliver a trustworthy, intuitive, AI-enabled user experience and implementation
- Lead Client Engagement: Support Client Advisory Boards across municipalities and counties, actively testing concepts, validating AI features, and gathering essential feedback
- Connect Data-Driven Insights: Collaborate with Reporting & Analytics to connect capital investment modeling, operational performance data, and machine learning insights across the Brightly platform
- Build Immersive Client Understanding: Meet directly with clients to build strong relationships and gain firsthand insight into their operations, challenges, and priorities
- Amplify the Voice of the Customer: Serve as the authentic voice of city managers, public works leaders, asset managers, budget officers, and planning departments, ensuring their needs directly inform product decisions and long-term strategy
- Demonstrate Industry Leadership: Represent Brightly at industry events and government forums, championing how responsible AI enhances infrastructure planning, strengthens asset resiliency, and supports transparent, fiscally responsible decision-making
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Public Administration, Business, Urban Planning or related subject area
- 10+ years of progressive product management experience, preferably within SaaS, GovTech, asset management, infrastructure/facilities planning, or closely related fields
- 3+ years specialized product experience creating and launching services or products specifically for the U.S. local government operations sector. This includes a solid understanding of budgeting cycles, asset lifecycle planning, and urban/infrastructure planning processes
- Demonstrated proficiency with GIS tools and concepts, with hands-on experience using ESRI or similar products being a distinct advantage
- Proven track record of defining, launching, and iterating on products that deliver measurable results, drive significant product adoption, and contribute directly to revenue growth
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex financial and operational data, as well as critically evaluate AI-generated insights (e.g., predictions, confidence levels, trade-offs) to inform product decisions
- Demonstrable experience in leading and influencing cross-functional teams from concept through successful delivery, without direct managerial authority. You can align diverse groups towards a common product vision
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively across the U.S. (and occasionally internationally to the UK or Australia) for onsite client visits, customer-centric events, and industry conferences, as needed
