Vor Systems is an energy AI startup backed by Gigascale Capital, seeking its first dedicated Applied AI Engineer to build the reasoning layer for utility-scale energy projects. The role involves designing workflows and document intelligence pipelines to automate regulatory hurdles, contributing to the clean energy transition.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build core agentic workflows that plan, execute, and verify multi-step regulatory and financial analyses for energy infrastructure
- Develop document intelligence pipelines on Modal to process multimodal inputs, including engineering schematics, site plans, and complex legal leases
- Implement rigorous validation and evaluation frameworks to ensure LLM outputs meet the high correctness standards required for infrastructure data
Requirements:
- Proven experience shipping production LLM-powered systems, with deep knowledge of retrieval, tool use, and context construction within larger platforms
- Highly proficient in Python and comfortable working with async or GPU-backed systems such as Modal, vLLM, or custom agent orchestration frameworks
- Exceptional at handling messy, real-world data from legal and financial domains while maintaining a strong focus on system reliability and observability
