Siemens is a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. They are seeking a Project Manager for their Electrification and Automation Business Unit to oversee the successful execution of projects related to medium-voltage power distribution equipment, managing all phases from initiation to closeout.
Responsibilities:
- Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion
- Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s)
- Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics and services to ensure successful project execution
- Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status
- Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
- Proactive Risk identification and Mitigation
- Manage customer expectations across project cycle and lead single and multi-product medium voltage solutions projects
- Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
- 3+ years of experience in the power distribution industry managing medium voltage portfolios
- 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office and specifically Microsoft Project
- 1+ year of working with multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations, and logistics
- Must have a valid US Driver's License
- Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in Power distribution industry
- Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications
- Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within project
- Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external Customers
- Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customer
- Demonstrated ability in contract and change management
- PMP certification as a plus
- PMP certification is required within 1 year of employment
