Prime Therapeutics is a unique pharmacy benefit manager focused on connecting care for those they serve. The Director of IT - Software Engineering will lead the organization’s technology strategy, overseeing enterprise initiatives and ensuring alignment with business objectives while enhancing operational efficiency and driving transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and provide strategic leadership for enterprise-wide IT initiatives, ensuring technology investments align with business strategy, operational priorities, and organizational goals
- Develop and execute the IT strategy in partnership with the CIO leadership team and Block Owner, establishing a long-range roadmap that supports growth, modernization, and innovation
- Direct IT service delivery across infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and vendor partnerships, ensuring compliance with security, regulatory, and financial standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, high performance, and continuous learning
- Oversee transformation efforts and enterprise-wide systems to strengthen scalability, operational efficiency, resilience, and customer responsiveness
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders to identify technology solutions, mitigate risks, and deliver measurable business value
- Manage IT budgets, financial planning, resource allocation, and performance metrics to optimize operations and ensure long-term sustainability
- Champion best practices, governance models, and emerging technologies to enhance competitive advantage and support enterprise modernization
- Develop technical cost models, forecasts, and savings opportunities for Strategic Investments to enable data-driven decision-making and responsible financial stewardship
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting evolving organizational priorities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High school diploma or GED required
- 8 years of work experience in IT-related roles with exposure to variety of technologies and applications
- 5 years of leadership and people management experience
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship
- AWS, Pega, Java, IBMi, MS Stack, Filenet.NET 8 / .NET Core, .NET Framework, C#, SQL Server, Okta
- Strong communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts
- Excellent problem‑solving, analysis, and multitasking abilities
- Skilled in project management, prioritization, and meeting deadlines
- Collaborative team player comfortable with fast‑paced change
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management
- Experience leading large‑scale IT initiatives and digital transformation
- Experience in PBM, healthcare, or regulated industries
- Experience with executive-level collaboration and board advisory
- Experience leading enterprise IT transformations in global or remote environments
- Advanced certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, ITIL) strongly preferred
