The Building Controls Project Manager is responsible for supporting the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects by managing Controls systems in Mission Critical facilities, ensuring efficient resource allocation and schedule adherence.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Controls integration design process, contract document review, and field implementation
- Key member of the commissioning team as it pertains to Controls
- Act as a McCarthy liaison with owner’s commissioning agent, owner, and Controls subcontractors throughout duration of the project to ensure Controls systems are commissioned correctly and on schedule
- Assist in schedule development for all Controls start-up, test & balance, BMS/EPMS, commissioning and related activities
- Work with superintendents on project logistics and temporary facility requirements for your assigned subcontractors
- Review and approve material and equipment for Controls systems prior to installation, monitoring the installation and start-up of systems
- Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed, representing McCarthy at weekly owner's meetings
- Oversee the manufacturer’s installation and operation verification, as well as vendor equipment control coordination/submittal review
- Oversee Controls Systems review, coordination, system start-up/checkout
- Responsibilities related to participating in and supporting the preconstruction effort for Controls scopes on Mission Critical projects
Requirements:
- 7+ years' experience in Construction/Controls design and coordination
- General knowledge of construction and design principles/practices required
- Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, plumbing, medium and low-voltage electrical systems
- General understanding of Building and Electrical Codes as they relate to construction
- Experienced working with Controls subcontracts and subcontractors
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
- Mission Critical experience highly preferred
