The Customer Quality Engineer will serve as the primary quality interface with key data center customers, driving satisfaction and continuous improvement across product lines.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated quality owner for assigned accounts
- Act as the main point of contact for all customer quality matters
- Lead customer quality reviews and support key customer initiatives
- Interpret and ensure alignment with customer specific quality requirements
- Own the full customer issue lifecycle using methods such as 8D, A3, and DMAIC
- Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Manage containment and communication for escalations and field issues
- Monitor warranty trends, field performance, and reliability metrics
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance product reliability and reduce defects
- Update DFMEA and PFMEA based on customer learnings
- Support testing and validation for product changes or new designs
- Participate in NPI programs for assigned customer accounts
- Ensure PPAP/FAI, control plans, and quality documentation meet customer requirements
- Support customer audits, FAT/SAT, and other readiness events
- Maintain customer scorecards and quality dashboards
- Report on DPPM, warranty costs, and systemic issues
- Analyze trends to prioritize improvement actions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing or HVAC/refrigeration systems
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving (8D, RCA, CAPA)
- Strong understanding of quality tools: DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, control plans
- Experience engaging directly with customers in a quality role
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt or CQE certification
- Experience with data center cooling products (chillers, air handlers, thermal systems)
- Experience with field failure analysis and reliability engineering
