Boise Cascade Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to manage engineering projects associated with wood products manufacturing. The role involves overseeing project feasibility, design, procurement, and execution while providing technical expertise and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of engineering projects from feasibility study through detail design, procurement, construction, start-up and post startup optimization
- Responsible for developing, planning, and managing, the scope, budget, schedule, and safe execution of successful projects associated with wood products manufacturing
- Adjusts style and approach to establish productive relationships with a diverse group of customers, stake holders and cultures
- Defines roles and responsibilities, directs, and leads project team members, contractors and consultants
- Acts independently on technical matters related to engineering
- Provides technical and supervisory expertise for capital projects
- 30% annual travel required to manufacturing locations
Requirements:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering required
- Electrical Engineer technical expertise for designing, managing, and constructing multi-million dollar electrical 480 VAC power distribution systems
- Ability to perform arc flash and coordination studies of electrical systems
- Emphasis in managing full spectrum of project activities required
- Requires advanced level of understanding in project management systems and techniques
- Requires knowledge of applicable governmental regulations, industry standards and codes particularly NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E, and property loss recommendations (Factory Mutual)
- MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, EasyPower
- Must be able to walk, kneel, climb ladders and stairs, and dealing with extreme temperatures
- 30% annual travel required to manufacturing locations
- M.S. is desirable
- Prefer working knowledge of AB ControlLogix
- Prefer 7-10 years progressive experience designing and managing multi-million dollar industrial capital projects, particularly in wood products manufacturing
- Prefer a Professional Engineer License
