They are seeking an OSP Engineer II to perform detailed outside plant facility engineering tasks, including estimating, analyzing, designing, and planning projects for copper and fiber cables, while ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Collect field data and prepare/organize permit packages for submission to appropriate entities
- Maintain complex files, keep accurate records, and investigate information contained in files to support operations
- Process departmental documents requiring specific knowledge of functional operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Post records, including accounting and property records, and type correspondence and reports from rough drafts
- Assist engineers with technical tasks and other requests to facilitate project completion
Requirements:
- Ability to identify existing voice/data plant, electric, and other utilities on site plans and in the field
- Skilled in indicating existing voice/data plant locations, relocating facilities, and obtaining right-of-ways and easements where required
- Capable of engineering routine and complex COE/OSP work orders, including intricate projects such as road moves
- Expert understanding of COE/OSP principles, work order procedures, voice/data industry standards, PC applications, and record or computer-aided drafting systems
- Must have tools such as a measuring wheel, height stock, pull finder, and laptop to perform essential tasks
- Experience and understanding of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) for engineering requirements
