As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Portal team, you will design and build features for the Azure platform, collaborating with partner teams to enhance the functionality of critical Azure services.
Responsibilities:
- Leads discussions and owns the architecture of products/solutions, developing complex design specifications and testing design options, ensuring performance, scalability, resilience, and security
- Independently creates clear test strategies that ensure solution quality, incorporating security testing and leveraging AI tools for test automation
- Produces extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code adhering to design specifications, continuously improving code quality and stability using metrics and AI techniques
- Reviews product and test code to ensure compliance with standards, adequate test coverage, and adherence to best practices, coaching others through code reviews
- Collaborates cross-team to identify dependencies, resolve conflicts, and ensure overall system security, compliance, and reliability
- Applies and promotes security best practices across code, architecture, and operations to ensure each layer is independently secure, including AI safety features in AI production systems
- Acts as a designated responsible individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on-call to monitor a system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions. Alerts stakeholders as to status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple problems and complex problems when appropriate. Responds within service level agreement (SLA) timeframe. Drives efforts to reduce incident volume, looking globally at incidences and providing broad resolutions. Escalates issues to appropriate owners
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, OR Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience with TypeScript and frontend web development (React.js, Angular, Vue, etc.)
- 3+ years experience creating framework APIs
