Electric Power Engineers is focused on designing the Grid of the future. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of power system engineers in conducting transmission studies and managing client accounts while ensuring project quality and timely delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high level bulk power system studies using various power system software
- Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects while meeting all project quality and budget objectives
- Interact with Clients to seek input and address their needs and concerns with respect to the project(s) study scope of work
- Direct and manage a team of electrical engineers to perform specific power system analyses including steady state, transient stability, short circuit, and/or EMT studies
- Develop and grow the capabilities of engineers within the team and the larger organization
- Perform advanced and specialized studies of the power grid utilizing industry standard analysis platforms such as PSS/e, PSLF, Powerworld, TARA, ASPEN, CAPE, and PSCAD
- Assist in model development efforts including development of generation, load, transmission line and transformer models
- Develop optimal system upgrade and constraint mitigation plans for identified system violations and issues
- Develop and review transmission study methodologies and processes
- Lead process improvement efforts identifying opportunities to enhance organizational efficiencies focused on maximizing team bandwidth while ensuring quality and timeliness of client deliverables
- Support business development activities including development of RFP responses & scope of work statements for clients, outlining EPE deliverables and projected completion dates
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a focus on Power Systems
- 5+ years in the electric energy industry, with experience in power system studies, design studies
- Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, TARA, CAPE, Aspen, and/or PSCAD
- This role will manage/supervise a team of power system engineers ranging from 2 to 10 individuals
