The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and implement scalable data solutions, ensuring data integrity and optimizing workflows across clinical, financial, and enterprise domains.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of scalable, robust data pipelines and architectures to support clinical, financial, and enterprise data needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations such as HIPAA
- Optimize data workflows for efficiency, performance, and scalability, leveraging big data technologies and cloud platforms
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Participate in strategic planning for data infrastructure, aligning technical solutions with organizational goals
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all platforms and systems
- Stay updated with emerging data technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance data capabilities
- Document data processes, workflows, and architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance audits
- Support data analytics and reporting initiatives by providing reliable and well-structured data sources
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working with data in clinical, financial, or other enterprise domains, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational database management systems
- Strong expertise in data integration and orchestration tools
- Advanced knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystems
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-based data storage solutions
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and team management
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data & Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Certifications in data management or cloud technologies are a plus but not mandatory
