Responsibilities:
- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish comprehensive system designs
- Create, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools, ensuring accurate product definition for engineering teams, production, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Perform analytical assessments and test data integration to validate and verify that systems and components meet all specified requirements and standards
- Manage supplier development, testing, and production activities, working closely with suppliers to optimize designs and meet program objectives
- Innovate by developing new design and analysis processes and tools aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of development efforts
- Investigate emerging technologies and develop conceptual designs for future products to meet projected requirements
- Work under general supervision, demonstrating technical proficiency and initiative
- Lead the development, integration, and documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and modification of structural and interior payload designs using advanced CAD tools, providing clear and accurate product definitions
- Lead the performance, integration, and analysis of testing activities to verify that systems and components meet all technical specifications and standards
- Manage and coordinate supplier development, testing, and production efforts, fostering collaboration to optimize design and achieve program milestones
- Assist in the investigation of emerging technologies and contribute to developing innovative concepts for future aerospace products
- Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership and technical expertise in project execution
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences
- For Level 3 positions, five or more years of related experience
- For Level 4 positions, at least nine years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in NX / Teamcenter software
- Ability to interpret 2-D drawings
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance, which mandates U.S. citizenship
- Prior structural design experience on military or commercial aircraft
- Strong understanding of aerospace structural systems
