Celigo is a company focused on providing integration solutions, and they are seeking a Lead Product Designer to manage and evolve their design system. The role involves creating a Figma-based design system, ensuring visual consistency, collaborating with engineers, and advocating for user-centered design practices.
Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and evolve a Figma-based design system, including: components, variants, and auto-layout structures, Design tokens (colors, spacing, typography, etc.), Responsive/adaptive layout patterns
- Ensure visual and interaction consistency across the Celigo product suite
- Establish and enforce a governance model for contributions, version control, and release cycles
- Maintain change logs and communicate updates to internal teams
- Audit and refactor existing components to reflect best practices and reduce redundancy
- Write and maintain system usage guidelines and accessibility specs (e.g., WCAG compliance)
- Publish tutorials or usage examples for internal designers and developers
- Host design system onboarding, workshops, and office hours
- Collaborate closely with front-end engineers to: Align Figma components with code (e.g., React, Web Components); Ensure fidelity between design specs and implementation; Support the integration of design tokens into codebases
- Support product teams with UX guidance and reusable patterns
- Facilitate the adoption of the design system across multiple pods/squads
- Provide hands-on UX/UI design for complex platform flows that benefit from systemic consistency
- Define and contribute to the overall platform user experience, from discovery through delivery
- Conduct and apply user research insights to shape user journeys, workflows, wireframes, and hi-fidelity prototypes
- Advocate for a user-centered, data-informed design approach grounded in UX principles
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree or the foreign equivalent in Geographic Information System, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Cognitive or Behavioral Psychology, or a related field of study
- Seven (7) years of post-baccalaureate, progressively responsible work experience in the position offered, as a Junior UI Designer, Senior Interactive Designer, Senior UX Designer, UI/UX Designer, Senior Product Designer, or a related user experience or interface product designer role
- Seven (7) years of experience with all of the following skills and technologies is required: visual design and interaction design principles; collaborating with globally-distributed teams; portfolio, responsive web interface design, or case studies experience for B2B (business to business) SaaS (software as a service) products; working in agile environments and iterative cycles; two of the following UI design tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator; two of the following rapid prototyping tools: Figma, Protopie, Axure, or Invision; one of the following white-boarding tools: Figjam, Miro, or Whimsical; two of the following cross-functional collaborations tools: Jira, Figma Dev, Trello, Zeplin, or Google doc; and all of the following front-end web development skills: Html, CSS, Chrome DevTools, and javascript
- Three (3) years of experience with one of the following design system documentation tools: Zeroheight or Supernova
