Invitation Homes is a fast-paced evolving publicly traded REIT that is pioneering a new industry with over 110,000 single family rental homes. The Enterprise Data Product Manager is responsible for defining, delivering, and scaling data products that power analytics and operational reporting, ensuring high-quality data is available to support key functions across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Product to develop and maintain product roadmaps for enterprise data products aligned to the approved data strategy
- Define the vision, outcomes, and success metrics for new data capabilities and improve existing products throughout their lifecycle
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting, enhance data quality, reduce operational friction, and expand self-service analytics
- Build trusted partnerships with senior leaders and domain experts across all functional areas
- Translate complex business needs into clear, structured product requirements, PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Facilitate alignment across diverse stakeholders, ensuring expectations, tradeoffs, and scope decisions are clearly communicated
- Own backlog creation, prioritization, and refinement using customer insights, business impact, data analysis, and engineering constraints
- Partner with data engineering, analytics engineering, and architecture to define scalable solutions involving data models, ETL/ELT workflows, system integrations, and semantic layers
- Lead cross‑functional teams through delivery, managing risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs in partnership with engineering leadership
- Validate completed work, ensure readiness for upcoming sprints, and lead product review and feedback loops
- Maintain strong working knowledge of enterprise data architecture, data domains, source systems, and downstream analytics layers
- Demonstrate proficiency with modern data stack components (Snowflake, dbt, orchestration tools, APIs) and how they support enterprise‑scale data products
- Create wireframes, data flow diagrams, dashboard layouts, or mock reports to communicate solution intent
- Partner with governance, security, legal, and risk teams to ensure compliance with data accuracy, privacy, and control requirements
- Monitor product health, adoption, data quality, and user experience to identify enhancement opportunities
- Conduct structured root‑cause analysis on issues and work cross‑functionally to drive timely resolution
- Evaluate and retire legacy solutions when appropriate to reduce complexity and technical debt
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 4–6+ years of product management experience, ideally with data, analytics, platform, or enterprise systems
- Proven experience owning complex, multi‑stakeholder product initiatives end‑to‑end
- Experience working closely with engineering and architecture teams on data models, integrations, and scalable technical systems
- Familiarity with modern data warehouse and analytics stacks such as Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, or Airflow
- Understanding of ETL and ELT patterns, data modeling concepts, and API or integration workflows
- Strong business and technical acumen with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, clear language
- Agile and Scrum experience and comfort leading cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to negotiate priorities, manage expectations, and influence without authority
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance user empathy with business impact
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams and drive alignment in complex environments
- High ownership, adaptability, and willingness to work through ambiguity
- Background in real estate, financial operations, or technology industries is a plus
- Ability to read or write SQL or Python preferred
