Software Engineering Intern

Starburst is the data platform for analytics, applications, and AI, unifying data across clouds and on-premises to accelerate AI innovation. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will design and develop components for Starburst products, collaborate with global teams, and participate in projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop components for Starburst products, including a comprehensive, fully-featured web-based user interface
• Participate in projects from concept to completion
• Continuously improve our engineering processes, tests, and systems that allow us to scale the code base and productivity of the team
• Collaborate with teams globally and operate in a fast-paced environment
• Provide exceptional customer support for both internal and external customers

Requirements:

• Rising Senior or recent graduate
• Experience developing software in Java
• Demonstration of ownership, grit, and bias for action - core values at Starburst
• Passion for Software Engineering (backend systems preferred)
• Prior experience building SaaS (especially for our SaaS product, Galaxy)
• Experience contributing to open-source software is a plus
