SWCA Environmental Consultants is one of the largest environmental compliance firms in the country, seeking an Assistant Project Manager for their compliance team. The role involves assisting with compliance efforts across various infrastructure projects, providing regulatory guidance, and managing communication with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist our environmental compliance and project teams on a range of small to large infrastructure projects
- Provide professional regulatory and permitting guidance to external clients and internal team members
- Support regulatory/permit compliance communications between agencies, clients, and construction contractors
- Communicate effectively and proactively with diverse project stakeholders, including regulatory agents, field crews, trade workers, and third parties regarding project status, schedules, and compliance issues
- Build new relationships and support the development of client capture plans
- Lead, manage, and/or support projects in southern Nevada and neighboring areas from start to finish. Projects will typically involve large, multi-faceted compliance initiatives, including associated processes, coordination, and deliverables
- Take responsibility for team safety, develop safety plans (when applicable), and anticipate potential safety hazards
Requirements:
- A B.S. in engineering, environmental science, or related field
- A minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Experience in mining, renewable energy generation and/or transmission, and/or oil and gas
- Experience in managing National Pollutant Discharge Eliminations System and state equivalent permits, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs), and spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC) plans
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word)
- A minimum of three (3) years of related experience
- A solution-driven attitude
- Proven experience in building new relationships and developing client capture plans
- Project management experience in Nevada and/or nearby areas
- Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate in writing, verbally, and graphically
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting laws and processes
- Ability to manage assigned responsibilities independently and proactively identify next steps
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within established project parameters
- Working knowledge of Smartsheet or similar project management tools
