Tango is a leader in the home health management industry, preparing for significant growth. They are seeking a Senior Production Support Engineer to resolve complex production issues and improve the stability and reliability of healthcare applications.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex, high-severity production incidents
- Lead investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of issues spanning applications, integrations, data, and infrastructure
- Own incident response for critical outages, including coordination, communication, and follow-through
- Partner with Level 1 support to guide triage, validate findings, and ensure timely escalation when needed
- Troubleshoot enterprise healthcare systems built on: Microsoft .NET / C#, React front-end applications, SQL Server / Azure SQL, IIS and Azure cloud services
- Perform advanced SQL analysis for data validation, reconciliation, and corrective actions
- Diagnose issues related to EDI workflows and transactions (e.g., 278, 837, 835, eligibility, authorizations)
- Support integrations with payers, clearinghouses, trading partners, and external healthcare vendors
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or high-impact incidents
- Identify systemic issues and partner with Engineering and Platform teams to drive permanent fixes
- Contribute to backlog prioritization by translating production issues into actionable technical requirements
- Actively reduce production toil through documentation, automation, and process improvements
- Proactively monitor system health, performance, and data integrity
- Partner with platform and engineering teams to improve alerting, logging, and observability
- Identify early warning signs of instability and take preventive action before business impact occurs
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Improve production support processes, standards, and escalation paths
- Mentor junior production support engineers and analysts through coaching and technical guidance
- Ensure all production support activities comply with HIPAA, CMS regulations, and PHI handling requirements
- Support audits, incident reviews, and compliance inquiries as needed
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support for critical systems
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship (required due to production environment access)
- 5–8+ years of experience in production support or operations engineering within a healthcare environment
- Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, SQL Server, IIS, Azure)
- React application troubleshooting
- Advanced SQL querying and data correction
- Deep understanding of healthcare IT operations, including: EDI transactions (X12: 278, 837, 835, etc.)
- HIPAA, CMS, and PHI compliance
- Proven experience working directly with payers, trading partners, and healthcare vendors
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and incomplete data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including incident leadership and stakeholder updates
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale, cloud-native healthcare platforms
- Familiarity with FreshService, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar ITSM tools
- Background in Home Health, Revenue Cycle, or Clinical systems
- Experience participating in or leading major incident response (SEV-1 / SEV-2)
