WSP is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management team. This individual will be reporting to our client’s job site in New Carrollton, MD. This is a night shift position (Sunday-Thursday).
Your Impact:
Job Description:
- Monitoring on-site construction activities, primarily on night shift
- Inspecting (sampling and testing) materials in accordance with client’s scope of services (plans, specifications, and special provisions)
- Conducting construction inspections on Class I railroad right-of-way in compliance with RWP rules and regulations
- Monitoring and inspecting horizontal and vertical construction activities
- Maintaining detailed accurate records of daily operations and significant events
- Preparing inspector’s daily reports (IDRs)
- Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control (in accordance with the client’s requirements)
- Transporting samples to be tested in a Department laboratory or appropriate facility
- Fulfilling other duties as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
- Responsible for assisting the Resident Engineer in the performance of their duties
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant construction inspection experience.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1
- OHSA 10
Certified Construction Inspector - Earthwork / Soil Compaction
- Work Zone Traffic Control
- MDE Erosion and Sediment Control Certification
- PCC Paving Inspection (TC3)
- Diamond Grinding and Grooving (TC3)
- Sawing and Joint Sealing (TC3)

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $38-$48/hour
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
