Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Engineer IV at the Novi, Michigan office to perform routine, in-depth, and fracture critical inspections. Inspections may include use of snooper trucks, bucket trucks, boats, and/or man lifts. Inspections will require in-state and some out-of-state travel.

This opportunity can include bridge load ratings and bridge construction inspection oversight.  The ability to complete design related tasks with a clear understanding of Michigan DOT, regional and municipal standards is applicable to the responsibilities of this position

• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant in-service bridge inspections experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid DMV license.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• PE preferred but not required
• BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 
• Qualified Team Leader status in Michigan
• FHWA-NHI-130055 or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Certification
• FHWA-NHI-130078 NSTM Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges Certification
• FHWA-NHI-130110 Tunnel Safety Inspection Certification
• Experience operating snooper trucks, bucket trucks, and man lifts
• SPRAT Certification
