Job Summary
The VR Buck Lead Engineer is responsible for the strategic
development of VR infrastructure and the integration of physical seating bucks
with digital environments. This leader ensures that the VR process provides a
high-fidelity platform for evaluating ergonomic comfort, user posture, and HMI
efficiency before physical prototyping
Key Responsibilities
VR Infrastructure & Development
-
Hardware
Integration: Lead the design and maintenance of physical/adjustable
seating bucks integrated with VR sensors, motion tracking, and haptic
feedback systems.
-
Lead
Buck Development: Drive the end-to-end design and construction of
physical seating bucks integrated with physical 3D printed parts and virtual
environments for high-fidelity testing.
-
Toolchain
Management: Oversee the technical infrastructure involving Eye
trackers, FIGMA-to-VR pipelines, Motion Tracker, posture analysis software,
etc.
-
System
Calibration: Ensure the digital-to-physical spatial alignment (1:1
mapping) of the VR buck to maintain validation accuracy for reach zones
and visibility.
-
Standardization: Develop internal standards for VR hardware setups and evaluation
methods to improve the reliability of virtual testing.
VR Validation Process
-
Workflow
Orchestration: Define the end-to-end VR validation process, from CAD
data ingestion to real-time user feedback assessments.
-
HMI
Digital Prototyping: Validate intuitive and error-free interactions on
EE related functions within the virtual environment.
