Job Summary:
We are looking for an A&U Lead Engineer/ Engineer to oversee the evaluation and testing of ergonomic designs and human-machine interfaces. This role ensures that systems, products, and interfaces meet user requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance for comfort, usability, and safety. The ideal candidate will lead validation activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Evaluation:
· Evaluate early-stage 2D and 3D design concepts to ensure they align with established ergonomic and HMI principles before prototyping.
· Conduct digital assessments of driver/passenger reach zones, sightlines, and instrument cluster visibility.
· Provide technical feedback to the design studio and engineering teams to resolve potential ergonomic bottlenecks during the design phase.
· Ensure all design-level specifications meet internal and international regulatory standards for occupant accommodation.
· Support VR Buck development activities within the team to ensure 1:1 matching between Design and Proto buck.
Ergonomics Validation :
· Assess user comfort, posture, fatigue, and safety using ergonomic tools and methodologies.
· Ensure compliance with ergonomic standards and guidelines.
· Develop internal standards to improve on the process and evaluation methods.
· Validate human-machine interface designs to ensure intuitive, efficient, and error-free interactions on the EE related functions.
· Conduct usability testing, cognitive load analysis, and feedback assessments.
· Evaluate performance metrics such as response time, ease of use, and accessibility.
Collaboration and Reporting :
· Work with design, engineering, and product teams to identify and resolve usability issues.
· Document findings, provide actionable recommendations, and support design iterations.
· Communicate validation results and insights to stakeholders through detailed reports.
Continuous Improvement :
· Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in ergonomics and HMI.
· Develop and refine validation processes, tools, and best practices· Bachelor’s or master's degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Industrial Design, Engineering, or related fields.
· Proven experience in Ergonomic evaluation and HMI validation (10+ years preferred).
· Proficiency in ergonomic tools (e.g., RAMSIS, CAVA, SPEOS, posture analysis software, motion tracking)
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills :
· Familiarity with industry standards and certifications related to ergonomics.
· Experience in Ergonomic testing tools and methods.
· Knowledge of user-centric design principles.
