The Sr. Vice President, Engineering & Innovation is responsible for defining and executing strategy for engineering, innovation, and design, overseeing functions to ensure scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the Innovation & Engineering strategy aligned with STACK’s growth, sustainability, and technology goals
- Partner with senior leadership to shape engineering innovation and technology differentiation
- Represent Innovation & Engineering to senior leadership and investors, providing data-driven insights on capital allocation, ROI, and technology roadmaps
- Lead a world-class global team of engineers, designers, architects, and innovators, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Establish and continually improve design standards and technology frameworks that enhance scalability, reliability, and sustainability across all STACK markets
- Champion the integration of advanced technologies (automation, AI/ML, modular systems, renewable energy solutions) to optimize operational performance and resilience
- Oversee capital planning and engineering budgets, ensuring cost efficiency, schedule adherence, and performance excellence across all projects
- Support innovation in supply chain strategy, vendor partnerships, and contracting models to improve speed-to-market and cost competitiveness
- Ensure rigorous compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Establish STACK as an innovation leader in data center engineering through thought leadership, partnerships, and representation
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that translate emerging technology and market trends into strategic opportunities
- Build relationships with customers, partners, and industry bodies to position STACK as the global benchmark for innovation and operational excellence
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, operations, or technical innovation within large-scale infrastructure or data center environments
- Proven success leading global, multi-disciplinary engineering organizations and driving transformation at enterprise scale
- Expertise in capital program management, technology strategy, and cross-regional operational execution
- Demonstrated experience managing P&L or large-scale budgets exceeding $500M+
- Strong business acumen and executive communication skills, with experience presenting to boards, investors, and external stakeholders
- Deep understanding of emerging technologies, sustainability, and digital infrastructure trends shaping the industry
- Master's degree or MBA strongly preferred
