Edged is a fast-growing global network of carbon neutral, zero-water data centers that lead the industry in energy efficiency. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and deployment of electrical systems for distributed power generation and energy projects. The role involves system-level electrical design, vendor integration, and hands-on engineering in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate electrical systems for distributed power generation projects
- Support system-level integration of electrical and electro-mechanical subsystems across multiple vendors
- Develop electrical architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface definitions
- Specify and integrate various power electronics subsystems including VFDs, DC-DC converters, and AC inverters
- Investigate, design, and support integration of battery systems, power distribution equipment, switchgear, circuit protection, and control hardware
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to ensure proper electrical-mechanical integration with an eye towards mass production
- Interface with external partner companies, vendors, and suppliers to align designs, requirements, and deliverables
- Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and iterative design improvements
- Produce and maintain clear electrical documentation and design packages
- Operate effectively in a remote, startup-style environment with a high degree of autonomy
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Mid-career experience level
- Strong foundation in low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, control systems, and genset subsystems
- Experience integrating electrical systems from multiple vendors and technology stacks
- Experience designing to applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, and related specifications)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple parallel engineering efforts
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across disciplines and organizations
- Power electronics: VFDs, DC-DC converters, AC inverters
- Control systems, PLCs, or embedded control architectures
- Distributed power generation or energy systems
- Designing to applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, and related specifications)
- Connectorization, harnessing, and weatherproofing techniques used in automotive and genset applications
- Commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support of electrical systems
