Boeing is a globally recognized leader in aerospace innovation, dedicated to designing, manufacturing, and supporting commercial and military aircraft. They are seeking experienced Structural Design Engineers to support the development of next-generation aircraft programs, focusing on structural and interior payload system designs using advanced CAD tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish comprehensive system designs
- Design, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload systems and components utilizing advanced 3-D CAD tools, ensuring accurate product definitions for engineering teams, production, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Perform analytical assessments and test integrations to validate and verify that systems and components meet all technical requirements and specifications
- Manage supplier development, testing, and production activities, coordinating efforts to optimize designs and meet program objectives
- Innovate by developing new design and analysis processes and tools aimed at improving development efficiency, quality, and effectiveness
- Investigate emerging technologies to conceptualize future product designs capable of meeting projected requirements
- Work under general supervision, contributing to team objectives and project goals
- Lead the development, integration, and documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements to define robust system designs
- Oversee the design, maintenance, and modification of structural and interior payload components using CAD tools, providing detailed product definitions to various stakeholders
- Lead performance testing, system integration, and analysis efforts to verify that systems and components adhere to all specifications and requirements
- Manage supplier activities related to development, testing, and production, ensuring alignment with program goals and quality standards
- Assist in investigating emerging aerospace technologies and developing innovative concepts for future product designs
- Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership and expertise in structural design tasks
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences
- For Level 3 roles, a minimum of five years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- For Level 4 roles, a minimum of nine years of related experience
- Proficiency in using NX / Teamcenter
- Ability to read 2-D drawings
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which necessitates U.S. citizenship
- An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-employment
- Prior experience in structural design on military or commercial aircraft
- Strong understanding of aerospace structural systems and design principles
