The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and implement scalable data solutions that support the organization’s strategic objectives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data pipelines and architectures to support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define data strategies, and implement solutions aligned with organizational goals
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms, adhering to regulatory and compliance standards
- Manage and optimize data lakes, data warehouses, and other storage solutions to facilitate efficient data access and analysis
- Implement and maintain data governance policies, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA
- Mentor and lead junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
- Stay updated with emerging data technologies and industry best practices, recommending innovative solutions to enhance data infrastructure
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure high availability and reliability of data services
- Document data architecture, workflows, and processes to support transparency and knowledge sharing across teams
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with data in clinical, financial, or enterprise domains, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of experience
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases, with a strong understanding of database design, optimization, and management
- Expertise in data integration and orchestration tools to streamline data workflows and ensure seamless data movement across systems
- Advanced knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystems
- Hands-on experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-based data storage solutions
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and project management
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to innovative data solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data & Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience
