Critical Facility Group (CFG) specializes in the design, operation and construction administration of data centers and critical facilities. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems, manage engineering design projects, and ensure effective communication with project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Designing electrical systems for building construction
- Engineering calculations and specifications
- Creating 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models in Revit
- Managing engineering design projects
- Traveling to project locations
- Perform system assessments and prepare technical reports
- Review submittals, RFIs and contractor proposed change orders, and conduct site observations
- Assist with construction site visits as required for observation, answering contractor questions, or representing the owner in preparing punch lists
- Create and develop planning and design concepts for projects
- Prepare presentation drawings and otherwise assists in presentations both internally and externally
Requirements:
- Proficiency with technical writing, office products, load calculations, discipline-specific design software (i.e., AutoCAD, Revit), power system modeling, spreadsheets, and engineering tools
- Design experience with uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and critical power system components and system topologies is required
- Broad design experience including lighting, grounding, and power distribution from utility coordination to device power is required
- Experience with planning and conducting inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of facilities and systems, applying applicable regulations and policies
- Highly proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues
- Perform system assessments and prepare technical reports
- Review submittals, RFIs and contractor proposed change orders, and conduct site observations
- Assist with construction site visits as required for observation, answering contractor questions, or representing the owner in preparing punch lists
- Create and develop planning and design concepts for projects
- Prepare presentation drawings and otherwise assists in presentations both internally and externally
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
- Proficiency in Revit Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
- Experience with Project Management
- Familiar with all related codes and standards
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with project teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience in facilities or data centers is a plus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
