Remote ICS Batch Engineer

Kforce Inc is seeking an experienced ICS Batch Engineer for a remote long-term contract/full-time role. The role involves supporting the migration of legacy CA DADS Plus environments to IBM CICS Batch Application Control, while collaborating with application teams to ensure smooth production transitions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of CA DADS Plus control files to CICS Batch Application Control (CBAC) for z/OS
• Create CBAC File Maintenance Utility (FMU) commands and develop JCL to define, initialize, and populate CBAC control files
• Conduct validation and testing of CBAC control files to ensure production readiness
• Collaborate with application engineering teams to support integration and promote migrated components into production
• Provide documentation, troubleshooting, and optimization support throughout the migration lifecycle

Requirements:

• Proven experience working in mainframe batch and CICS environments
• Strong JCL, TSO/ISPF, and REXX scripting skills
• Hands-on experience with CICS Transaction Server and batch application operations
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Prior experience migrating or replacing CA DADS Plus or other legacy mainframe tools
• Knowledge of CICS Batch Application Control (CBAC) setup, configuration, and utilities
• Familiarity with IBM DevOps tools for z/OS environments such as IDz, DBB, UCD, or Wazi Deploy
• Background in mainframe modernization or z/OS transformation projects
