
The University of Iowa Health Care department of Guest Services, is seeking a Patient Escort. This position will be full-time with a primary schedule of 8:30a.m to 5:00p.m. Monday-Friday. Under general supervision, meets, greets, assists, and transports ambulatory patients and visitors to and from University Hospitals utilizing various modes of transportation including wheelchairs, patient beds, and carts. Assists with the delivery, care, cleaning and appropriate storage of patient care assets and medical equipment.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Additional Info: This position has a blood-borne pathogen exposure risk. Must be able to regularly move heavy weight of 100 lbs, and occasionally in excess of 250 lbs via wheelchair or bed. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and move for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in inclement weather. Must be able to move for long periods of time.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Ability to read, write and follow instructions
Special Qualifications:
Driver's license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Driving Record Review Standards

Ability to use a mobile phone and other electronic devices.
Ability to understand basic floor plan of UI Health Care.

Ability to move across long distances and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform duties indoors and outdoors
